Exchange (Chicago)

Exchange, a journal edited and produced collectively by students in the Anthropology Department at the University of Chicago, is currently seeking submissions for its Spring 2006 edition.

Exchange is a dual-media journal, released in its entirety online and in print. It provides a forum for socio-cultural, linguistic, historical, and archaeological debate and experiment. Exchange is committed also to responding in the timeliest way possible to current public and political concerns. As well as publishing research reports, the journal features cultural writing that tests boundaries of form and content, including commentaries, interviews, blogs, photo-essays, short films, and reviews.

Exchange welcomes submissions from scholars inside and outside the academy and graduate students in all fields. Short pieces are strongly encouraged and articles should not exceed 5,000 words. We also welcome announcements and letters of approximately 250 words or less. These may include anything from upcoming events, notes from the field, to professional information and concerns and responses on current matters within the discipline. Lastly, we welcome reviews of books, sound recordings, films, television programs, or exhibits. Reviews should be no longer than 1,000 words. Deadline for submissions for our Spring edition is February 24, 2006.
